I have been a resident of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho for most of my life. I have four children who have given me the experience and worries of teenage driving! I received my Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Idaho and my 5th year from Washington State University. For over 20 years, I taught elementary and middle school in Walla Walla, Clarkston, and Spokane, WA. I completed my driver education endorsements in the summer of 2004 and opened the doors to Drive Right Academy in September of that year.
Since our opening in 2004, we have had thousands of students graduate from Drive Right Academy. We are very proud of the program that we have developed at Drive Right Academy and we feel confident that the students are presented with the skills and knowledge that they will need to become responsible and defensive drivers.
Katie Norman is a teacher by profession and hobby. After graduating from the Western Washington University she moved back to the area and began working as an elementary teacher. Katie began working for Drive Right Academy in 2007 and drives with students in the evenings and on weekends. She frequently attends conferences and professional development classes to learn new teaching strategies and increase her skills.

Our Instructors use a variety of instructional techniques to enrich the classroom. “Students learn best when they are actively involved in the learning process, therefore, instructors use questions to explore, examine, and explain concepts and techniques.” Our teachers use State Authorized Curriculums, Manuals & Textbooks: “Idaho Driver Education Curriculum Manual”, “Idaho Driver Education Standardized Skills Guide”, and the “Idaho Driver’s Manual”.
